South Florida (Currently in the Construction Documentation Phase)

The H + E Garden is a residential garden in South Florida, currently in the Construction Documentation Phase.  It is an intimate collaboration with the clients, both art and automobile aficionados, the architect, Anthony Abbate and his associate Alex McManus.

In the entry garden, visitors will walk alongside the native Florida planting beds, through a pivoting Corten Steel gate and underneath an overhead concrete trellis of flowering vines to the front door.  Automobiles will drive upon cut cap rock with zoysia lawn joints to a Corten Steel gate with narrow gaps to provide minimal transparency to the architecture beyond.

The pool and surrounding garden presents vantage points for the clients’ outdoor art pieces, set against a native and inviting landscape.  A specimen Clusia tree and character Sabal palms will act as complementary and compelling art in the landscape.
