Hialeah, FL (Currently in the Schematic Design Phase)
Hialeah Park opened its doors to the public in 1925 and quickly established itself as a destination within South Florida, home to legendary thoroughbred horse races. Raymond Jungles, Inc. was brought into the project by Ewing Cole in December of 2010, to enhance the overall Master Plan design. The design revives the dormant racetrack and transforms the 202 acre site of the existing historic Hialeah Park into a destination entertainment landmark.
Our design seeks to restore and enhance the natural habitat and incorporate both existing and proposed architectural elements. The primary water element on the site is the Flamingo Lake, located in the center of the race track. This lake element was key in defining the vision for the overall landscape concept. Water is incorporated from the entry drive and arrival areas to the Flamingo Pavilion courtyard. The Flamingo Fountain will be restored to its historic state. The roadways within the site are designed to be intuitive, leading to points and roundabouts that guide guests to the arrival and parking areas.
