Ho-Ting “Jenny” Liu joined RJI as an Associate in 2022. Originally born in Taiwan, Jenny’s experiences of living in mainland China, Singapore, and the United States over the years have informed her interests in exploring the role of human-nature interactions in diverse cultural and environmental dynamics. Prior to embarking on the journey of becoming a landscape architect, Jenny developed a strong background in Biology from Macalester College in Minnesota which included extensive field research of SCUBA diving in the Mississippi watershed to study aquatic ecosystems and published research findings in international peer-reviewed science journals. Her passion has also extended to theater studies and performances where she is particularly curious in exploring how the shaping of space morphs power dynamics and defines behaviors.

Upon earning her Master of Landscape Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2017, Jenny worked with SWA Group’s Los Angeles Studio as a team lead for managing marketing, project coordination, and schematic design production in China. She has also worked with Reed Hilderbrand in Massachusetts, where she was actively involved in design development and construction document production. Through these professional experiences, Jenny has been exposed to varied project typologies of private residential, retail plaza, urban parks, botanical gardens, and campus planning.

Jenny enjoys seeking inspiration from hiking in national parks and fueling her creative energy from taking improv/voice-over classes.
